Notes from A Lively Hope
This week was all about:
a week in the mountains with my parents, siblings and their families (30+ people) for my sister’s wedding!
so much cousin time for the kids
a little bit of time to work in my sketchbook and on some handwork projects
my artwork featured in the Gather conference art show

Reading:
I just finished My Friends by Fredrik Backman. I love everything he’s ever written and this does not disappoint. I could feel my heart breaking from the very first page (and don’t we all need a book like that sometimes?). It was poignant and funny and beautiful. This will most likely be one of my favorite books of the year.
The Quiet Damage: QAnon and the Destruction of the American Family by Jesselyn Cook This was equal parts fascinating and horrifying. A must read if you have loved ones that have been changed by QAnon. It’s a difficult book, but left me feeling slightly hopeful.
In the House/Yard: Since returning from our time at the cabin, I’ve been catching up in the yard/garden. There was a lot of weeding to do. This morning I planted some perennials (that I got on clearance!) in one of our flower beds. Cosmos are about to take over the front yard and cherry tomatoes are not far away from ripening.

Here’s to making the time for the things we love to do!
