Hello and Happy Saturday! I’ve got a couple of quick announcements today.
First, I’m putting together some felt/embroidery ornament workshops this holiday season.
Here are the dates and locations I know so far:
December 7th: Sandy, UT AND West Jordan, UT
December 14th: Salem, UT
Sign-ups will be forthcoming. If you’re in any of these places and would like to attend please save the date! Send a quick reply to this email and I’ll make sure you hear about it when sign-ups are open.
Would you like to host a workshop?
I’ll be in the St. George UT area November 8th or 9th and in the Mesa, AZ area November 21-25. If you’d like to host a small crafty get together, I’d love to teach you and your friends how to make some beautiful embroidered ornaments! Reply to this email to work out the details!
Secondly, at the end of October, alivelyhope.com will be undergoing some hefty changes. I’ve been blogging in that space for years and years, though much less often recently. I shared our whole foster care and adoption journey, our early years of homeschooling and the progression of my art practice and career.
It’s been a beautiful journey and one I have loved sharing with many of you.
I will be retiring all the current content on alivelyhope.com at the end of the month. I will be moving the domain here to this Substack.
The focus of my work has shifted and it feels like the perfect time to make this change and start with a clean slate.
You will still be able to find my printable bundles in my Etsy shop (for now).
Thank you so much for your support over the years. I’m excited about this new chapter and looking forward to the road ahead.
On My Desk:
I had some very, very rare uninterrupted work time yesterday and put it to very good use. I filmed/edited several upcoming videos for youtube and finalized designs for this year’s Christmas ornament set.
Around Here
Reading: I’m re-reading A Thousand Splendid Suns for book club and it’s breaking my heart all over again. What a powerful, heartbreaking story.
I’ve also been working my way through The Stand as a buddy read and while it’s far from my typical book choice, I can hardly put it down.
Watching: Our family has been enjoying the Junior Bake-Off series on Netflix for our weekly pizza and a show night. It’s a little stressful for me (SO many messes!) but such a joyful watch.
On YouTube: The VERY simple drawstring bags I made for our annual Over the Garden Wall Party
On Instagram:

In the House/Yard: Gathering seeds to replant my zinnias next year and scattering Black-eyed Susan and Cosmo seeds everywhere.
In the Shop: Christmas Redwork Kit and Christmas Redwork Pattern
Here’s to making the time for the things we love to do!
