List of Summer Fun

Each summer we make a list of all the fantastic summery things we want to accomplish while we have warmth and sunshine.  Usually I write everything on a large poster and we check activities off as we do them.  This year, I came up with a more visually appealing method.

I wrote our list in block letters (thank you, 7th grade) and/or drew pictures to represent each activity.

As we check things off, the kids will color them in and by the end of the summer we'll have a cute, colorful poster documenting our adventures.

I've decided we need to make a poster like this for every season.
Who says summer should get all the fun?

Our Summer Fun list includes:
Lake Powell
Water gun targets
six new parks (we'll color in one letter for each new park)
build a fairy house
Ogden Nature Center
Willow Park Zoo
Root Beer Float popsicles
Homemade ice cream
Hogle Zoo
Water Balloon pinatas
make strawberry jam
splash pad
make sun catchers
swimming lessons
lawn stars
Bear lake
watermelon seed spitting contest
make garden markers
ice treasures
grow a garden
make an obstacle course
Natural History Museum
Cache County Fair
Read Around the World (I'm putting together a reading list that will showcase all of the continents)
giant bubbles
cousin sleepover
fly a kit
grow giant sunflowers
tie dye socks
lots of hiking (again, we'll color in one letter for each hike)
lemonade stand
go camping (a lot)
go bowling
make a solar oven
make a water scope
drive-in movie

How do you keep track of all of your summer fun?

  1. Love your list! We need to make one, too.

    1. Thanks, Tara! I'd love to see what you come up with. We might need to add to our list!
