Tony Grove Revisited

We intended to hike a new-to-us trail this morning, but somehow missed the turn-off and rather than retracing our steps to search for it we went back to Tony Grove Lake.

We were not disappointed.

The wildflowers are out along with a multitude of butterflies, dragon/damselflies, bees, and other flying things.

It was a quiet morning, with very few other people around.

We had plenty of time and space for rock-throwing, shade-sitting, insect-gazing and a bit of water-splashing.

By the end of our trek, despite a fairly early start, we were ready to cool off a bit.  (I'm praying this 100+ degree weather doesn't drag on too much longer... especially since this wildfire in Millville Canyon is way too close to home.)

Yes, this beautiful place has turned into a favorite spot for our family.

Want to join us next time?

  1. Yes, I'd love to come next time! Also, the apricots on our tree our almost ripe. I'm sensing an apricot jam making/canning lesson in the near future.

  2. We would!! What a gorgeous hike!
