Ellie's Leprechaun Trap

Ellie built a Leprechaun trap last night and set it out in the hopes of catching one of the little critters.

This is what she woke up to this morning:

The note says:

Your ingenious trap almost caught me, little lass. You don't get my gold
but I did leave you a treat!
Better luck next year!

Phineas Greenbottom
(a leprechaun)

She didn't seem to mind at all that she wasn't able to catch a leprechaun. And don't worry, she won't be allowed to eat all those treats by herself! They'll go into the treat bucket for her to pick from when she's done practicing.

I haven't been able to get a very good picture of it, but poor Ethan has his first black eye (kind of). He was throwing a fit at Ellie's swimming lesson and ran away from us. He ran underneath a chalkboard that was on the pool deck and smacked his face, near his left eye, on part of the chalkboard. Getting taller stinks! (As if I would know...)

In this photo he also happens to have a cookie all over his face because distracting him with food is the only way I can get him to hold still long enough to take a picture.

  1. How creative are you?! :) One of our leprechauns went to work and the other drove kids to school. We are SO festive! ha ha!

  2. Loved the trap! Poor Ethan, we've had plenty of shiners at our house and one Naughty button on the forhead.
