Ellie's birthday party

Yesterday we had Ellie's first friends birthday party. She loves to be my "sous-chef" when I cook, and decided to have a chef birthday party. The idea was that we'd make place mats and everyone would cook their own pizza all while wearing fabulous chef hats. It didn't turn out quite like that, but it was still fun.

The kids played outside for a long time, we opened presents, broke a pinata and then had a break for pizza and decorating cupcakes.

Jumping on our neighbors' trampoline.

The pinata (it's an ice cream cone, just in case you couldn't tell).
The birthday girl in her cowboy (oops, I mean cowGIRL) boots.

I love this picture of Olivia. She was convinced she was going to break the pinata.

The mad rush for candy.

"It's my party and I'll cry because I think I didn't get enough candy from the pinata if I want to..."

--> I was impressed with Noah's cupcake decorating abilities. I don't think there was a spot of frosting without a sprinkle on the entire cupcake. Good job, buddy. (Unfortunately he dropped this immediately after walking out the back door.)

It was a fun afternoon, and thanks to Ellie's friends for celebrating her day with us, and to our friends Becky and Jimmy and Dani and Jeralyne for your help!

  1. It was so much fun, you put a lot of work into it. I don't know if I can be as good as you and do a big fancy birthday party. What a fun day for Ellie and her friends.
