More from the Solar Oven (aka Dude, the Sun Cooked This Bread)


We have been experimenting with our solar oven bread recipe and this was the result of our efforts earlier this week.  I used the same basic recipe I shared previously, but used half wheat flour and half white.  The result was a delicious, crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside loaf.  It was the perfect size for our family to gobble up with dinner.


Every time I put something in the solar oven I find the same song stuck in my head.  Can you guess what it is?  Here's a hint, though my brain is singing the original version.  You're welcome.

ps- It still boggles my mind that the sun is cooking food for us.
