Fiddler on the Roof

Have you ever seen a cuter face?

Ellie and Ethan had their final performance of Fiddler on the Roof last week.
Oh my, it was adorable.

After countless hours of rehearsal, constant singing and dancing at home (remember this?) and some beard knitting on my part (I knit some beards for the Papas who wanted them) the big night finally arrived.

Ellie was recruited to be a son because the boy:girl ratio was off.
She was very concerned about making sure her earrings were out for the show, because then she'd "definitely look like a boy".  I couldn't bring myself to point out that she looked like a darling girl dressed up as a boy.

The kids were thrilled to show off their hard work and pulled off the best performance yet.

{isn't that backdrop amazing?  It was painted by a friend of ours.}

And I was thrilled to kick off our family holiday festivities with a night full of talented kiddos followed by a celebratory dinner attended by THREE sets of grandparents (plus a couple of aunts and a crazy uncle).

I have no words to express how grateful we are for our supportive family.
They drove 1.5-2 hours for a 15 minute show.  That's devotion.

"At fwee I started Hebrew school, at ten I wearned a twade.
I hear dey picked a bwide for me.
I hope her's pretty!"
