Field trip Friday-- Big Cottonwood Canyon

For our fieldtrip today we went exploring in Big Cottonwood canyon. I only had a couple of requirements for the trip: that we see the beautiful autumn leaves and that we find a quiet place to sit and enjoy being outside. After some searching we were able to find a spot right on the river.

Ethan threw rocks for close to an hour. Good thing he throws with both hands, or one of his arms would be a lot bigger than the other by now.

According to Ellie, she "helped a ladybug find a lovely new home". I think if we asked the ladybug it would have a different story.

We were very lucky to be able to take cousin Hailey along with us today. She plopped herself right down next to the water and made a family out of some little rocks. She's darling, and so fun to have around. And now that she's gotten over her intense fear of Ethan, they play really well together.

I am so glad that I was able to leave my worries at home and enjoy this time with 3 great kiddos.

What did you do on this beautiful fall day?
