Casa Loma and the Science Centre

(view from the belvedere of the Casa Loma)

We visited the Casa Loma and the Ontario Science Centre on Saturday. Our day had to be cut short because traffic was horrible. By horrible I mean it took us 3 hours to get to Toronto when it should have taken 1. Ugh. I am so grateful that our friends, the Cornias, offered to let us borrow one of their old-time cartoon dvds for the trip. Normally for a 1 hour car ride we wouldn't put in a movie. But when it took us over an hour to go less than a mile, I was more than happy to have it. As sad as it is to say this, I'd much rather see these glazed-over stares than listen to screaming when I'm already stressed:

The Casa Loma was incredible. The kids were smitten with all the secret passageways and the sheer size of this "house". Jason's favorite secret passage lead from the study to the wine cellar.
He also found his dream shower:

The Ontario Science Centre was HUGE. I felt like we barely got to scratch the surface of the exhibits there (due to our traffic delay we didn't get to spend as much time there as we planned).

But the kids did get to be astronauts.

And Ellie and I got to make our hair stand on end at the electricity ball.

And Jason got to see if he could pedal a bike fast enough to power a light bulb. Yeah, he did just fine. And now I'm thinking about how he can help cut down on our electricity bill once we get home...

We made it home without any problems and were thankful that even though we had a rough start to the day, at least we didn't get lost or run out of gas!

  2. If Jason couldn't pedal fast enough to make the light bulb light up, who could?
