Easter festivities

We enjoyed lots of time with family this weekend. Jason's grandparents were in town, and we had a nice visit with them. Here's Grandma Gwen with Peanut:

There was also an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos. I stunk it up at getting good shots during the hunt, but the kids had fun!

3 1/2 year old Jane took this picture of Ellie and me. Good job, Janie!

Here are Sam, Grandma Munk, Jeff, Scott, Jason and Grandpa Munk. We're so glad we got so see you, Grandma and Grandpa!

This is a random picture of Peanut in his jumperoo. He just discovered that he can lift his legs up while he's in it. For some unknown reason, this is REALLY fun.

On Sunday evening, we went to my parents' house for Easter dinner. Dinner, as always, was scrumptious. Uncle David set up an Easter Egg hunt for Ellie and Cougar. (Once again, most of my pictures really stunk).

Things did get a little out of hand, with Kristi hiding an egg in her mouth.

Cougar was a little hesitant to get it out.

The best part about this Easter egg hunt was that there was not a single thing in the eggs. And the kids didn't care one bit. In fact, the eggs were hidden at least two more times and each find was just as joyful as the first.

I love this picture of Phoenix (aka Fifi).

Despite all of the fun activities, we were able to celebrate the real reason for Easter. We decided to give the kids their baskets on Saturday night, so we could focus exclusively on remembering the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on Sunday. We had a simple lesson and talked about the Atonement and Resurrection. Ellie even seemed to get it. She said, "Easter eggs and candy and chicks and bunnies are FUN, but they are not for Easter. Jesus is for Easter." I am grateful to have been able to celebrate with our family and to remember this most important day.
