"Get to Work!" and the Gingerbread House

Here is the view we woke up to on Monday morning. Beautiful!

Last weekend, Jason had to buy a new snow shovel. (Why is it that you always forget you need to replace something important like a snow shovel until there are a couple inches of snow on the driveway?) He bought a mini-shovel for Ellie as well. When he gave her this wonderful gift, he also gave her the responsibility of clearing snow off our front porch and steps whenever it becomes necessary. She took it upon herself to go the extra mile on Monday evening.

She shoveled the entire driveway. Talk about your over-achiever!

I went out to get a picture of her, but she kept saying, "Mom! I can't stop for a picture. I'm working here!" The only way I could get her to look at me was to stand immediately in front of her as she was pushing snow down the drive. I think she's laughing in this picture because she just put snow all over my feet.

After the shovel-fest, we made a Gingerbread house together.

The finished product.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
