Catching Up

Because my camera was not around for the past couple of weeks, I have a few old pictures to share. Ellie, as always, is very entertaining. She made these hats for herself and her "brother" the teddy bear. It was a wonderful quiet time activity. I only had to help her tape them together!

Lately Ellie has had a really hard time sleeping through the night. We've talked (and talked, and talked...) about what she should do if she wakes up in the night. Because we have talked so much about this, she has developed her own sign language sign for what she should do:

This means "close your eyes and go back to sleep". She sticks her tonuge out of the corner of her mouth every time.

My sisters Kristi and Nikki have birthdays within 5 days of each other. We always celebrate their birthdays together. This results in a shared birthday cake. Here is my first attempt working with fondant. (Just in case you couldn't tell, it's a strawberry)

Happy Birthday, Sisters!

Ellie, Cutie and I spent the last few days at my parents house. My awesome mom watched the kids while I went to Education Week at BYU. It was heavenly! This may seem silly, but it is SUCH a treat for me to go somewhere by myself. I felt like a princess walking around campus all alone. I missed my munchkins by the end of each day, of course. But I feel so refreshed and ready to come back to being a mommy again. Thanks, Mom! Jason even got to come down for a visit Thursday evening/night. It was a little strange to have a "boy" sleep over in my old room...

Part of the festivities at the Kindlespires included making fried zucchini and eggplant. Ellie and Cougar loved to help dip and bread the veggies. What fun to have a cousin! Cougar was not excited about my picture-taking. I promise he was having fun!

The only thing that could possibly compare to a cousin is having an uncle only 6 years older than you. Especially an inventive uncle. David and Ellie constructed this slide out of two tables. Did they have a blast? They did.

  1. Good job with the fondant! I've always wanted to try that, but never have had the guts. I'm impressed! How did you like working with it?

Glad you got to take a break and go to education week. One of these years I plan on making it there myself. Dare to dream right?
